Okay, okay, okay… We’ve heard the sidewalk talk. We’ve seen the posts on local discussion pages. We know you’ve asked. What about that porch?
A little background for those of you who aren’t locals: When the house was originally built, it included a beautiful wrap around porch. Small town gossip (which may or may not be true… as most small town gossip is) claims that after sleeping off few too many drinks the night before, someone attempted to drive home the following morning. Attempted, being the key word. The porch took a devastating hit and the current owners decided to remove the majority of it. Leaving the front stoop and converting the side to a four seasons room. Is that the truth? Who knows? Does it give us a good story? Absolutely.
Front porches are part of American history. Growing up in the south, porches helped shape how we spent our time. This area represents gathering with loved ones, shade from the summer heat, enjoying a porch swing with friends, watching the traffic from local festivals, sipping a cocktail, waiting for a storm to roll in, passing out trick-or-treat candy, hearing stories being told and talking to those passing by. Front porches are where memories are made.
So let’s put all the discussion to rest…. yes, we do have porch plans in place.
*Please keep all vehicles and golf carts a safe distance from this future porch.
